Default New Tab Location
  • When a new tab is requested the initial folder for that tab is either a copy of the currently active tab or a user defined folder.

Startup Folder Options
  • When UltraExplorer starts up the initial folder that is browsed to is either the last folder that was open when UltraExplorer was shut down or a user defined folder.

Tabset Options
  • Hide tabset when one tab visible: When the number of tabs shown is one hide the tab and associated tools.
  • Save Removable Drive Tabs: Saving folder of objects that may be removed the next time UltraExplorer is run could cause long delays in startup. By default these types of objects are not saved.
  • Save Network Drive Tabs: Saving folder of objects that may be removed the next time UltraExplorer is run could cause long delays in startup. By default these types of objects are not saved.
  • Save Mapped Drive Tabs: Saving folder of objects that may be removed the next time UltraExplorer is run could cause long delays in startup. By default these types of objects are not saved.
  • Show path in popup hint: When hovering over a tab show the full pathname in the popup hint to help identify it.
  • Show full Paths in Menu: When showing the open tabs in the drop down menu in the tabset area show full path names to help identify the folder.

General Options
  • Single Instance: Only allow one instance of UltraExplorer at a time.
  • Show Full Path in Addressbar: Show the full file path in the Addressbar (Dropdown ComboBox)
  • Suppress "No Disk in Drive" messages: Try to suppress system messages about no disks in drives.
  • Show Path in Caption: Show the current path in the main application's window caption.
  • Show Tool Hints: Show popup hints for buttons and tools.
  • Show Toolbar close buttons when docked: Show the small "X" buttons in the corner of the Toolbars to allow them to be closed by clicking on the "X".
  • Track selected file size: Dynamically track the size of the selected files and display the number in the status bar at the bottom of the application. This can significantly impact selection speed on large numbers of files.
  • Use "On by Default" flag for custom column handlers: Custom column handler (to add new column to the Details Mode) may misuse the flag set to show the column by default. Windows Explorer typically ignores this flag and only shows the normal four column (Name, Size, Type, Date) regardless of the state of this flag. UltraExplorer lets the user decide if this is acceptable or not.
  • Autocheck for Updates: Checks for a new version of UltraExplorer. Must have internet access. Use the Help>Check for Update main menu selection to manually check for a new version.
